Black Bears

Black Bears
Black bears are native to America/North America and Canada. The Black bear
is the smallest but most common bear in America. Black bears aren't always
black, they can also be ranged from light orange to light grey.

Diet
Black bears use their unique features to find food. Black bears are omnivores
which means they eat plants and meat, They like grasses, roots, berries and
insects, fish and mammals such as Deer, Foxes, and even their own kind as a
last resort. They can also climb trees to find fruit that is hard to get to.

Habitat
Black bears are usually based in northern areas of america and Canada they
are
often found in tundra and are extremely adaptable. Black bears can be found
in forested areas with thick vegetation, while in more northern areas they will
forage in fields or meadows.

Appearance
Not all Black bears are black, their fur can range from pure white to a cinnamon
colour to a very dark brown. The different colours come from a gene in the
mother and father. Black bears are fairly slim and don't eat as much as other
bears such as Brown bears and Grizzly bears. Black bears use their unique
retractable claws to climb trees.

Black bears are very adaptable, unique animals and are also very interesting,
